Evidence suggests that Ancient Greeks extensively used monograms on their coins. However, it was only in late 1800s when monograms gained popularity. A large number of companies including those belonging to apparel and footwear industry started using monogram logos. These logos were generally made by joining together the initials of the company in an artistic manner.
The monogram logos of renowned fashion companies were creatively designed to emanate the virtues of magnificence, style, classiness and upscale craftsmanship. Over a period of time, monograms became quite a rage and other well-known brands also started using them.
