This one has the street cred of a recommendation by Joanna Stern in the Wall Street Journal. They reviewed and recommended it in the class of the cheaper sticks. One drawback, and this is not limited to this stick, is that when you press the photo button the stick may wobble, meaning a blurry selfie.
A good cheap option when putting your toe in the water.

Much more than a simple stick, it has an internal battery built into the grip that extends the GoPro’s working life by a claimed up to ten hours, or charges other devices using its two USB ports.
A bit expensive for all but the most dedicated narcissists who could justify it by using it to top-up charge their other mobile devices.
Quik Pod Handheld Selfie Extendable Pole With Mini Tripod Legs
For your information, Quick Pod are apparently the inventors of the Selfie Stick. Do you use a lightweight digital camera for those carefully posed selfies, and your phone for the selfies you take on the fly? You need a tripod and a Quik Pod for the salon quality shots, and a smartphone and a stick for snaps on the go.

Promaster Selfie Stick, Camera/Smart Phone Boom Arm
One to look at if only because of its exceptional reach – fifty-one inches. It is let down however, by an incompatibility with some smartphones – they either need their case removed to fit onto the stick, or work only in horizontal mode.

A bit embarrassed about having and using a selfie stick? Probably not, if you take selfies in the first place. If you still feel a bit sensitive, you can justify having this one by saying that the selfie stick feature is only one of the many features offered by this stick, and you bought it as a portable tripod anyway.
It acts as a tripod, camera grip and an extension arm, as well as being waterproof, helpful in inclement weather. Many GoPro users think that this is the best sticks for use with a GoPro. However, you should be aware that it’s also quite short in comparison with others.
