If you have been a Windows user for just one day, you know that it eats up most of our disk space. And what’s really annoying is that, all the applications, songs, movies or any files that we download, tend to take more space than normal. We start thinking that a virus is downloaded every time you download something from the internet, but that’s not true. It’s in the blood of windows to eat up disk space and it forces other applications to eat more and more disk space. The solution? Reduce the hunger and let them starve. Yes, that’s true, that’s what I’ve done now.
The first thing to do on this quest is to make sure that you’ve deleted all the systemlog files after uninstalling any unnecessary programs from your computer. Once you’ve done that, we can move on. If you don’t know how to delete the systemlog files, just download CCleaner, and it will do the thing for you (it does not takes much space).

SpaceSniffer
Speed, great interface and the way it produces information, it was the easiest choice to make SpaceSniffer the best recommendation for clearing hard disk space. It arranges all the files in horizontal manner, along with its details, such as file size, file name etc. You can choose which files to delete and which files to keep, but make sure that you know which file you are deleting, because if you delete an important file, you will then regret it later.
You can also zoom into some elements, and like most other programs, there is a drag and drop feature. All in all, this makes your disk space hustle, end right away.
DoubleKiller
As the name suggests, it kills all the duplicate files. But before getting into the specific details, I want to let you know that windows does require some duplicates to run, so make sure that you don’t delete your system files, or else you will ruin your whole operating system.
Double Killer searches for duplicate files by matching their names, sizes, creation date and also the contents inside the file. If they match, it will display in the files that can be deleted area. You can then choose which files you want to keep, and which files you want to delete. Even though Double Killer recommend to keep all the duplicate files in one separate folder, I delete them because they are just useless and eating up my hard disk space.
There are two versions of this software, the free version just scans the duplicate files and deletes them; the PRO version does much more than that, and you can compare it here.

A perfect optimizer and cleaning software that suggests you on which software you should delete. How does is suggests?
